Sandra Underwood, M.S., LMFT, LPC, BC-TMH

I am a native of Bentonville, Arkansas.  After graduating from Bentonville High School in 2001, I completed a B.S. in Psychology at John Brown University.  I went on to complete my graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at JBU in 2011. I have been in private practice since graduation.  I am currently licensed in the State of Arkansas as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor.  I received my Technology-Assisted Specialization from the State of Arkansas in 2013.  I am board certified in telemental health, S.A.F.E. EMDR trained, and EMDR Certified through EMDRIA.

I use EMDR therapy to help people work through their hardest experiences so they are able to live more rewarding lives. EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, and is a form of therapy that helps people heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences. Experiencing trauma can block the brain's natural way to recover from distressing events. EMDR therapy is designed to reactivate this natural healing process through alternating eye movements, sounds, or taps. I have seen how amazing EMDR is for my clients! Watching their healing process with EMDR has made me more confident that I can help future clients with their pain.
