Sandra Underwood, M.S., LMFT, LPC, BC-TMH

I am a native of Bentonville, Arkansas.  After graduating from Bentonville High School in 2001, I completed a B.S. in Psychology at John Brown University.  I went on to complete my graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at JBU in 2011. I have been in private practice since graduation.  I am currently licensed in the State of Arkansas as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor.  I received my Technology-Assisted Specialization from the State of Arkansas in 2013.  I am board certified in telemental health, S.A.F.E. EMDR trained, and EMDR Certified through EMDRIA.

 

I use trauma informed therapies like EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) to help people work through their hardest experiences so they are able to live more rewarding lives. Experiencing trauma can block the brain's natural way to recover from distressing events. EMDR and ART are designed to reactivate the brain's natural healing process through alternating eye movements.
